  • Squat Form Critique – detailed exercise technique breakdown…

    Post From http://leehayward.com/blog/squat-form-critique-detailed-exercise-technique-breakdown/

Today we’re going to break down proper squat form & learn how to correct some common squatting technique mistakes.

Most people classify the squat as a “leg” exercise, but it’s really a full body exercise that works every major muscle group to some degree – especially the legs, hips, back, and mid-section.

In addition to building muscle and strength, squats will help increase your flexibility, mobility, and it’s a movement pattern that will carry over into improving your functional strength.

If you’ve never received proper coaching with the squat, than you might be making some very common beginner squatting mistakes. That’s what we’re going to cover in the video below. You’re going to learn everything you need to know to improve your squatting technique so that you can squat more comfortably, lift heavier weights, and reduce your risk of injury.

Even experienced lifters who have been going to the gym for years can still make some of these common squat technique mistakes.

Watch the video below to find out the RIGHT and WRONG way to perform the barbell squat…

Fixing exercise mistakes and adapting to a new technique isn’t going to happen instantly in just one workout. So be patient, take your time, and focus learning proper squatting form over the course of several squat workouts. But once you do master proper squat form you will notice better overall muscle & strength gains in the gym!

If you would like more info about proper squatting technique, I recommend that you check out my How To Squat Blog Post. This covers several tutorial videos that dive into different aspects of squatting.

  • New Year’s Resolutions

    Post From https://www.needtobuildmuscle.com/bodybuilding-blog/2015/01/22/new-year-resolution/

With the start of the New Year I often see people contemplate starting to try and live a healthier lifestyle but often don’t because they fear the unknown. People often wonder “What is the right diet for me?” or “how should I be training for maximum progress?” Or “what supplements do I use?” and it all gets so confusing some rather not take any action at all than make a wrong decision.

    new year resolution question

Starting any new endeavor is daunting. There is always the possibility of failure. No one wants to fail. Especially if it’s something you are passionate about. I often find that people would rather not try at all, than to try and possibly fail. With the first option it’s easy to say “Oh, I just didn’t try.” In the second option, you have to admit that you did try and weren’t successful.

Here’s the thing – every successful person I have ever met has failed, and usually not just once. Usually, more times then they can count. I can speak from personal experience that I learn more from trying something and not succeeding, then trying something and succeeding. Sometimes, failure is a blessing in a disguise.

Remember that failure is an event, not a person.

Setbacks and failure are inevitable. What makes a champion is how you deal with them. Do you give up or do you keep trying? It is only through failure that you really see how strong you are. Failure is an opportunity to learn more about yourself and what it takes to succeed.

I tell every person who comes to me for coaching to remember that placing dead last is better then not finishing, which is better then did not even trying.

“I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.”
    Michael Jordan

“Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.”
    Winston Churchill

As we continue this New Year, please remember to always try your very best, to put everything you have into your diet and training. One day you will wake up, look in the mirror and really like what you see. That day, you will taste success.
